About

“Join us for the journey that is already underway. You may be reminded of electric Texas Blues, Hard Rock, or transported to Haight-Ashbury or Sunset Strip where psychedelic music was born—We were there… We’d like to take you with us, and We promise to return you safely home…”

Although the band is new, the artists behind this fresh, new, original music are, 40 year plus, industry veterans. Their love for music and palpable energy is apparent in the listening.

The “Texas Blues Runners” came into being from an idea born on Thanksgiving night in November of 2008 by bassist/singer/songwriter Stephen Crane, and Hammond organist Charlie Rouzer, after hearing the blistering blues guitar delivered up by Mike O’Neill, and the explosive drumming of Jessie Andrade. Steve and Charlie had played together in the bands “The Livin End” and “Baby” many years before, and both were exploring ways to play together again. They decided to record an album and the rest unfolded. Recording began in August of 2009, with the first six songs written by Steve Crane and some by co-writer Scott Ellison. The second session produced five more songs, two co-written with Mike O’Neill, and an instrumental written entirely by O’Neill. The album is now complete and in production, and will be available on March 10, 2010. The groups first performance will be May 22, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas It is a work of love and passion which all four musicians possess in goodly amounts. We hope that you will join in for the journey that is already underway, and share the experience. “Music brings us all together so that we can make a difference. It was so in the sixties, and is still the same today. It is one beautiful gift that no-one can take away!” Thank you for being here…

Stephen–back in the lte 60’s I was a road manager for several of Howard Ragland’s bands–did the Midwest circuit, advertised on KOMA–but I have lost contact with Howard. I noticed he had shown up in your studio when you were recording. Trying to contact him–do you have any information? or if you see him-have him contact me.
I bet we have a lot of common “band” friends. I used to book a lot of bands into the Littlefield Sports Arena. We were the largest place in the area that could house crowds up to 1,000. Had the Sparkles, Tremendous Tracers, Gilmer and the Fireballs, Viscounts, The Living End (the Abilene group), –many others. I was going to WT in Canyon at the time.
Look forward to hearing from you.
